Pilgrimage to Manang (Nepal) 2018 

Chodpa Lama Rinpoche invites his sangha to embark with him on the annual pilgrimage to sacred sites of Nepal.

This year Rinpoche will be visiting Manang. Manang is holy place of the famous Saint Milarepa. This site includes a cave where Milarepa meditate, holy spring, gompa, and bow from the local archer who met and tried to kill Milarepa. In the classical songs of Milarepa, he sings of a deer, a dog and a hunter, the chain of causation and compassion. After hearing Milarepa’s song, the hunter put down his bow and decided to listen to the teachings of Milarepa.

Get ready for amazing pilgrimage journey which will take you beyond your imaginations of endless mundane drama and distractions. For once own liberations first you needs is: purifications, accumulate merits, get blessings of the enlightenment masters of the past and be inspired, finally one can attain Buddhahood which is nothing else then liberation from endless Drama of Samsara. Learn to love all and continue develop good heart as much as possible. Try to leave behind the yesterday, and look forward what is on the way, which is full of uncertainties and including our best friend: death. When that time comes all the dilemma of all those complicate things that what we have been busy with saying, doing will end by itself. So for your own liberations look forward and be inspired. Pilgrimage Itinerary

15 March: Arrival at Boudha, meeting with Rinpoche, organizing necessary permits and on next day leaving to Manang. After arrival to Manang we will be doing 7 days accumulation of Chötsog Rinchen Trengwa. Then a few days to visit other holy places in this area. And last three days resting in Pokhara and heading back to Boudha. 
 
 
  

Pilgrimage Cost

There is no such a fee for pilgrimage, but you have to take care of your flying tickets to Nepal and back. And expenses for accommodation and transportation will be shared equally by all participants and paid on the spot.

15 days Nepali visa costs US$25 and you can get it on arrival at the airport.

To visit Manang permit is required. Expect to pay around $100 or less per person.

Additional Information

It’s necessary to bring with you daily prayer book, Lujin Chod practice text and Rinchen Trengwa text as this’s the practices we will be doing during pilgrimage time.

Also you must bring with you equipments: tent, warm sleeping bag, yoga mattress, gloves, termos, warm clothes, good walking shoes, thick socks, walking stick and camping stove if you have one.

You must be able to walk for 3-4 hours (0ne way) from the village to Milarepa Cave. But horse also can be hired.
