The psoas, a deep muscle connecting the lumbar spine and pelvis, plays a central role in posture, stability, and body dynamics. This conference offers an exploration of its anatomical and mechanical interactions, and how targeted yoga practices can help release chronic tension, optimize alignment, and prevent structural imbalances.
Due to its anatomical location and biomechanical function, the psoas — also called the “muscle of the soul” — is deeply connected to our emotional and physical well-being. This conference invites participants to better understand it in order to feel, release, and harmonize this vital center through postures, breathing, and body awareness. A subtle exploration to reconnect movement, breath, and inner vitality.
A unique event for teachers, yoga practitioners, athletes, or simply curious individuals wishing to discover how this area of the body influences posture quality, mobility, and emotional well-being.

“In every movement, relax your psoas: where posture softens, peace settles in.” For the more stubborn among us, we could add: “Relax your psoas… before it decides to remind you who the real boss of your back is! 😄” Never forget to laugh!

Theme: Creating a Forest Garden or Food Forest

Where: At the Machig Ling Center in Rivel (11230)

When: Sunday, May 31 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Day led by Olivier from Rivel (www.olivinesculpteur.com)

Free contribution, given consciously!

Program for this rich and intensive day…

• Creating a forest garden or food forest (What is a forest garden and why choose this model / Designing your space / Knowing, choosing, and propagating plants).

A forest garden (or food forest) is an agricultural system inspired by the functioning of a natural forest, where edible plants are cultivated by imitating its layered structure (trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, ground cover, roots, and climbing plants).

Each plant plays a complementary role (fertilization, protection, production), creating a balanced and productive ecosystem. Based on the principles of permaculture, this model promotes biodiversity, reduces external inputs, and improves soil fertility.

Once established, it requires little maintenance and sustainably provides fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants, and other resources.

Permaculture means designing a garden so intelligently that nature does most of the work… when everything is well thought out, nature works efficiently in silence, and the gardener reaps the benefits with minimal effort.

The three pillars of permaculture are fundamental ethical principles:

• Care for the Earth: preserve soils, water, ecosystems, and biodiversity.

• Care for People: meet essential human needs (food, shelter, well-being) in an equitable way.

• Fair Share (or redistribution of surplus): limit overconsumption and share resources fairly.

Permaculture is a holistic design approach inspired by the way natural ecosystems function, aiming to create sustainable, resilient, and life-respecting agricultural systems. Its goal is to produce food while preserving soil, water, and biodiversity, by minimizing inputs and human labor. Its benefits include improved soil fertility, better water management, greater food autonomy, and a reduced environmental impact.

From July 26th to August 2nd

It is with immense joy that we announce the 14th Chöd Retreat, which will take place for the first time at our new Machig Ling center, located in Rivel, Aude, France.

Surrounded by mountains, forests, and a peaceful river at the foot of the center, this sacred place was born thanks to the commitment of the entire team, friends of the Dharma, and under the loving guidance of our master, Chodpa Lama Rinpoche.

From the beginning of the retreat, practitioners will have the rare opportunity to receive the Chöd initiation, as well as profound teachings related to this living lineage, directly transmitted by Rinpoche.

We will also receive complete instructions for immediately practicing the sadhana of Dentog Chigma, a direct and powerful form of Chöd.

Throughout the retreat, several Dentog Chigma practice sessions will take place daily. The morning and afternoon will be dedicated to this practice, in an atmosphere of contemplation and transformation.

Every morning for six days, Rinpoche will give teachings on Phadampa Sangye’s 100 verses of advice to the people of Dingri.

Translations into French and Spanish will be available throughout the retreat.

PROGRAM:

*Saturday, July 26: Arrival at the end of the day, check-in, and first practice session in the evening.

*July 27 to August 1: Daily teachings and Dentog Chigma practice with Chodpa Lama Rinpoche.

*Saturday, August 2: Grand Chöd ritual with public reception for blessings and healing. The retreat ends around 4:30 p.m. Return transportation for participants or a closing meal for those who remain.

*Sunday, August 3: Return transportation for participants.
