The Machig Ling Buddhist Centre has the immense joy and precious merit of inviting you to the fifteenth Dentog Chigma retreat, taking place from 15 to 22 August 2026, under the compassionate guidance of our most precious Chödpa Lama Rinpoche, in the peaceful and inspiring setting of the Machig Ling Buddhist Centre.
During this retreat, we will have the exceptional opportunity to withdraw from ordinary concerns and devote ourselves fully to Dharma practice—to this wonderful practice of Dentog Chigma.
Supported by the blessings of the lineage and Rinpoche’s precious teachings, we will cultivate awakened presence, boundless compassion, and the wisdom that recognises the true nature of the mind.
In silence, simplicity, and the energy of a place conducive to practice, every moment becomes an opportunity to transform the veils of attachment into a path towards awakening, for the benefit of all beings.
The sacred retreat setting
A retreat is a precious space in which the blessings of the lineage can fully permeate our minds.
In order to preserve this atmosphere that is favourable to practice and to support each person on their inner journey, a few commitments will be observed.
- Participants are invited to remain at the retreat venue for the entire duration of the retreat. No departures will be possible before its conclusion.
- From Sunday morning until Friday evening, noble silence will be observed. This silence is not merely the absence of speech; it is a practice in itself. It allows mental agitation to settle, presence to become stable, and the mind’s natural wisdom to gradually reveal itself.
Within this space of contemplation, the practice of Chöd can penetrate more deeply into our being and become a true experience of transformation.
May we gather for this precious retreat with pure motivation, so that this practice may become an inexhaustible source of benefit for ourselves and for all sentient beings.
May all beings find happiness and the causes of happiness. 🙏
