Pilgrimage to Nepal 2017 with Chodpa Lama Rinpoche
Chodpa Lama Rinpoche invites his sangha to embark with him on the annual pilgrimage to sacred sites of Nepal.
This year Rinpoche will be visiting Maratika cave – the place where the great master, the second Buddha, Padmasambhava and Dakini Mandarava obtained the realization of immortal life. And Lumbini – birth place of Buddha Gautama.
Pilgrimage allow you to immerse yourself in the blessing of the linage and accumulate numerous merit through practice at the sacred places. At the same time it’s greatest opportunity of visiting most holy buddhist places under guidance and care of Rinpoche. At each of the holy sites you will receive teachings and practice with Rinpoche.
Pilgrimage Itinerary
Day 1 – 10 march: Arrival at Boudha and meeting with Rinpoche.
Day 2 – 11 March: Preparation for Lumbini trip. After dinner departure to Lumbini by bus.
Day 3 – 12 March: Arriving Lumbini early morning. Visiting Maya Devi Temple – birth place of Buddha Shakyamuni – and other buddhist monasteries and sites.
Day 4 – 13 March: Visiting Kapitalavastu – ancient city where Siddharta Gautama was raised and lived until the age of 29. After dinner departure to Boudha.
Day 5 – 14 March: Arriving Boudha. Rest day.
Day 6 – 15 March: Early morning departure to Maratika. Arriving Maratika afternoon. Visiting the cave.
Day 7 – 16 March: TseDrub – Long Life Practice & Chod at the evening.
Day 8 – 17 March: TseDrub – Long Life Practice & Chod at the evening.
Day 9 – 18 March: Rinchen Trengwa – whole day of Chod practice.
Day 10 – 19 March: Rest day at Maratika.
Day 11 – 20 March: Departure to Boudha.
Pilgrimage Cost
There is no such a fee for pilgrimage, but you have to take care of your flying tickets to Nepal and back. Expenses for accommodation and transportation will be shared equally by all participants and paid on the spot.
15 days Nepali visa costs US$25 and you can get it on arrival at the airport.
Registration
Space is very limited! And registration is required for the arrangements!
Additional Information
It’s necessary to bring with you daily prayer book, Lujin Chod practice text and Rinchen Trengwa text as this’s the practices we will be doing during pilgrimage time. Sadhana for TseDrub will be provided.
